Dr. Miriam Rubin, Ph.D., CBSM, DBSM is a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified behavioral sleep specialist who

has specialities in helping with in trauma, PTSD, as well as sleep issues (e.g. insomnia, nightmares) and experience providing

comprehensive and evidence-based psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions and

stress.

During her 30+ years at the Worcester VA Clinic, she developed in-depth skills

for working with people with trauma and PTSD, as well as those seeking therapy for issues such as chronic health challenges, improving mood and managing anxiety and depression, substance use disorders,relationship issues and acute life stressors.

She developed an anger management program that builds self-esteem and assertiveness skills to address unmet needs.

She also started a comprehensive program for assessment and treatment of sleep problems including

insomnia, chronic nightmares, irregular sleep patterns, and sleep apnea / CPAP issues.

She offers research-proven therapies such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)-based therapies, including CPT, CBT-i for insomnia, CBT-N for nightmares, IRT, WET, motivational interviewing, Seeking Safety, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), relaxation techniques, and others.

She is accepting new patients at Integrative Psychology, PC and sees people in person (Arlington, MA) or via telehealth.

I believe in the importance of evidence-based practice and offer interventions that are

well-grounded in scientific principles and research, while at the same time being

innovative and creative in adapting these approaches to the unique needs of my clients.

Similarly, I use a holistic approach to assess sleep issues in order to address the

multiple, interactive factors that impact sleep to create a truly individualized plan. My

therapeutic style is warm, honest, and direct, and I have a pretty good sense of humor.

I ask a lot of questions and listen carefully to your answers so that together we can

develop a plan that will address your needs and move you towards your goals. I offer
