Professional statement

Myrna Williams is a Social Worker in North Florida. She works with Individuals and children. Many of Myrna’s clients come in to address Interpersonal problems from trauma. Myrna is particularly passionate about serving working women, and wives. She also have advanced training in the area of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Myrna is trained in Psychodynamic, EMDR, CBT, DBT, Somatic therapy, in which I use supportive converations to look at how patterns of interaction have developed and change perspectives to strengthen connections outside of session. In session, Myrna focuses on use of breathing, somatic rhythm movements, grounding exercises and behavioral modeling. This approach supports clients to feel more present, relaxed in their body, and able to think more clearly..

Myrna's style is active, warm, thoughtful, non judgmental and goal oriented. When clients first start therapy, will use easy conversation to establish a strong relationships and comfortable environment where they feel safe and heard..

Myrna received their MSW from Adelphi University School of Social Work, Garden City, NY. She has worked at St. Barnabas Hospital mental health clinic serving children and families. Outside of private practice, She loves painting, being silent, and playing with animals. Myrna is available for remote therapy sessions.

Message to clients

If you want someone to be honest and tell you what is needful, and not just let you drift without direction, then you would appreciate me as a therapist, sometimes its difficult to hear what would be super helpful. But sometimes we need to hear it over and over until we "get it." I care because it matters to me if you get better, and I will be patient, we are not in a rush. Although EMDR does work immediately.

I want you to know that there is hope for change and help in therapy, optimism in the future, and want you to know that you can get better. We can go as fast or as slow as you wish, because it took a long time to get here, and sometimes its not easy. We can work to help you understand how the old patterns learned in early childhood or adulthood tend to get repeated as adults until new and effective strategies are developed. You can develop new strategies. What and how do we effect change? Its simple, we talk, I use supportive conversations that help you start to have insight about yourself. I look forward to meeting you, and learning about how you survived the past.
