Rooted in evidence-based approaches and cultural sensitivity, Nancy is deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and personal growth. Online counseling available in Florida, Texas, and Arizona. In person sessions available Mondays in Jacksonville, FL.
Nancy’s extensive career spans a variety of non-profit settings, focusing on underserved populations. She began her clinical work with internships at the Tucson Rape Crisis Center and a community mental health center along the Arizona-Mexico border. Over the years, Nancy has held leadership roles overseeing mental health services for adults, investigating critical incidents, and managing community-based programs.
She served as Chief Operating Officer for a national mental health nonprofit, where her leadership earned recognition through the White House’s Joining Forces Community Challenge. Most recently, Nancy has provided oversight for substance use treatment centers across northeast Florida and was appointed in 2023 by the Jacksonville City Council to serve on the Opioid and Substance Use Disorder Committee. She is a recognized expert in opioid use disorder, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and harm reduction strategies.
In addition to master’s degree in clinical counseling, Nancy holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology, specializing in ethnographic and cultural studies. As a civilian cultural advisor, she was embedded with a Brigade Combat Team in Iraq for seven months (2008–2009). During this time, Nancy conducted sociocultural fieldwork and accompanied soldiers on over 100 missions “outside the wire,” including infantry units, military transition teams, police transition teams, and military police. This unique experience profoundly shapes her trauma-informed and resilience-focused approach to counseling. Nancy has also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and is a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
