Professional statement

Nick Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who works with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, men’s issues, and major life transitions. He has particular experience supporting veterans, individuals processing PTSD, athletes facing performance pressure, and those recovering from domestic violence.

Nick works well with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and are looking for a space to slow down and gain clarity. Clients often describe his style as calm, grounded, and easy to talk to. Sessions are collaborative and paced intentionally, without pressure to rush or have everything figured out.

His approach is rooted in existential and humanistic therapy, focusing on each client’s unique experience, values, and sense of meaning. He helps clients better understand themselves, process what they’ve been through, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. He also integrates mental performance principles and offers Humanistic Sandtray Therapy as an optional tool.

Nick’s background includes eight years in the Marine Corps with two deployments, along with experience as a teacher, coach, and mental performance consultant. He provides in-person sessions in Fort Worth, Addison, and virtual therapy across Texas.

Message to clients

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting.

I work with people who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their direction—whether that’s from trauma, anxiety, pressure to perform, or major life changes. My goal is to provide a calm, grounded space where you can slow things down, think clearly, and start working through what’s going on at your own pace.

You won’t be rushed or pushed to talk about anything before you’re ready. We’ll focus on helping you better understand yourself, process what you’ve been through, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d be glad to connect.
