Nick Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, who works with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, men’s issues, and major life transitions. He has particular experience supporting veterans, high-achieving individuals, and those recovering from domestic violence or long-standing emotional wounds. Nick works well with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their sense of purpose and want a space to slow down, reflect, and regain direction.
His therapeutic approach is grounded in an existential-humanistic framework, emphasizing authenticity, personal responsibility, and meaning-making. Nick integrates person-centered therapy, trauma-informed care, and expressive approaches, including Humanistic Sandtray Therapy when appropriate. Sessions are collaborative and client-led, focused on helping individuals better understand their internal world, reconnect with their values, and develop greater self-trust and emotional resilience.
Nick’s professional background includes military service as an eight-year Marine Corps veteran with two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as experience as a former teacher, coach, and mental performance consultant. He holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program and a master’s degree in Sports Management. His work is informed by both clinical training and lived experience with trauma, recovery, and high-pressure environments.
Nick provides counseling services in Fort Worth, Texas, and offers both in-person and remote sessions to accommodate client needs. He practices under the supervision of Jacqueline Maye, LPC-S, and is currently accepting new clients. His goal is to offer a grounded, supportive space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered to move forward at their own pace.
