Professional statement

Noah Trepanier is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in supporting adults experiencing anxiety, interpersonal challenges, and the lingering impact of trauma. His passion is to help individuals who feel stuck in patterns that leave them emotionally overwhelmed or disconnected in relationships.

He draws on insight-oriented and relational therapy to collaboratively explore how past experiences—including early relationships or trauma—shape current thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Together, he and his clients examine recurring life patterns and work to shift toward more authentic, self-compassionate ways of relating to themselves and others.

Noah earned his MSW from Hunter College and completed advanced training at the Stephen Mitchell Relational Center. He built his clinical foundation at the Fifth Avenue Counseling Center before launching his private practice in 2018. This background equips him with expertise in psychodynamic and interpersonal therapeutic models.

He sees clients both in-person in New York City’s Flatiron District (steps from the Union Square station) and online in New York and Connecticut. Noah also offers a free 10-minute phone consultation to determine fit and answer questions you may have.

Message to clients

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. So many of us carry the weight of our struggles in silence, thinking we have to handle things ourselves. Therapy can be a place to share that burden with another person, with whom you can speak honestly about yourself, and who will help you to make sense of what you’re going through.

Whether you're feeling anxious, struggling in relationships, or carrying the impact of past trauma, you don’t have to navigate it all by yourself. Above all, my goal is to help you to explore parts of yourself that might feel confusing or unseen and uncover new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you. In our initial session, we will start by getting to know you, exploring your history, identifying what you'd like to accomplish in therapy, and then work towards those goals.

I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space, where I foster a spirit of both curiosity and empathy. I work from a psychoanalytic and relational perspective, which means I pay close attention to how your past and present relationships shape your inner world—and how we can begin to gently shift the patterns that no longer serve you.
