Professional statement

Renee is a pre-licensed mental health counselor and yoga instructor. She is a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher and manages Simplify Yoga in Coventry. While Renee has a toolbox full of different therapeutic interventions, she frequently utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Mindfulness based practices. to help individuals with anxiety, depression, life transitions, anger issues, and adjustment difficulties and disorders, stress management and exploring the purpose and meaning of life. She enjoys working with adults, young adults, older adults and teens.

Prior to starting private practice, Renee worked at Women and Infants Day Hospital Program, Butler Hospital Emergency Room and Harmony Hill School. She currently works at a Bradley Hospital CADD residential facility. She received her MA in Mental Health Counseling and her BS in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University of New Hampshire.

I will work with you to determine and apply strategies that will improve your life, behaviors and making healthy choices. My style is open and practical, utilizing a treatment approach that encompasses compassion, genuineness, and a trusting therapeutic relationship. With me you can expect clear, honest and direct communication balanced with warmth, compassion and a down to earth approach. You will feel seen, heard, supported and understood. I strive to help client's balance their desire for change with their practice of acceptance. I look forward to the opportunity to work together.
