Professional statement

Rima Danielle Jomaa is a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified hypnotherapist with 17 years of experience — practicing virtually from the jungle of Costa Rica, where she surfs daily and raises her family.

Rima works with high-functioning adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, self-worth, and relationship struggles. Her approach goes far beyond talk therapy — blending CBT, somatic work, hypnotherapy, inner child work, and psychedelic integration into a fully personalized plan for each client. She also offers hypnobirthing support for expectant parents seeking a calm, empowered birth experience.

What makes Rima's work distinct is the depth of her lived experience. She has navigated her own healing journey, sat in plant medicine ceremonies in Peru, gave birth naturally at home using hypnobirthing, and built a life in Costa Rica from the ground up — including a real estate investment and a published book. She doesn't teach tools she hasn't used herself.

Clients describe working with Rima as grounding, clarifying, and often transformational. She holds space with warmth, directness, and humor — and has a gift for helping people move from knowing what needs to change to actually changing it.

Message to clients

You don't have to have it all figured out to reach out. Whether you're exhausted, stuck, or simply know something needs to shift — that's enough to start.

I work with people who are intelligent and self-aware enough to know they want more from their lives — more ease, more confidence, more genuine connection — but keep running into the same patterns no matter how hard they try. That's exactly where therapy, and especially hypnotherapy, can create change at the root rather than just the surface.

I bring 17 years of clinical experience, a holistic toolkit, and a deeply personal understanding of what it means to do the hard work of healing. Sessions are collaborative, personalized, and — despite the depth of the work — often feel lighter than people expect.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation. It'll feel like a real conversation, not an intake form. Reach out when you're ready — I'd be honored to connect.

Specialties

Anxiety - Anxiety is one of the most common — and most treatable — struggles I work with. Whether you're dealing with chronic worry, social anxiety, panic, or high-functioning anxiety that looks fine on the outside but feels exhausting inside, I combine CBT, hypnotherapy, and somatic tools to create change at the root, not just the surface.

Trauma - Trauma doesn't always look like a single dramatic event. It can be years of emotional patterns, relationships that hurt, or a nervous system that never learned to feel safe. I work with trauma at both the conscious and subconscious level — using somatic therapy, inner child work, hypnotherapy, and psychedelic integration to support deep, lasting healing.

Depression - Depression can make everything feel heavy, distant, and pointless — even when your life looks fine from the outside. I help clients reconnect with motivation, pleasure, and a sense of direction using a personalized blend of talk therapy, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, and nervous system work.

Pregnancy, perinatal, postpartum mental health - As a certified hypnobirthing practitioner who gave birth naturally at home using these exact tools, I bring both clinical expertise and genuine lived experience to this work. I support expectant parents in releasing fear, building confidence, and preparing mind and body for a calm, empowered birth — as well as supporting the emotional transition into parenthood.

Self-esteem - Low self-worth shows up in every area of life — relationships, career, the way you talk to yourself at 2am. I work with clients to dismantle the deep subconscious patterns that keep confidence out of reach, using hypnotherapy, inner child work, and CBT to build self-trust that actually holds.

Burnout - Burnout isn't just tiredness — it's what happens when high-achieving, deeply caring people run on empty for too long. I specialize in working with driven adults who are exhausted by their own standards and ready to build a life that feels as good as it looks. This is some of my most rewarding work.
