Professional statement

Sage Rubinstein is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. Having grown up in a home with a narcissistic parent, Sage found herself struggling with a harsh inner critic, as well as food and body image issues that consumed most of her adolescence and young adult life. She became a therapist, not only as a means to heal herself and find meaning in the abuse she endured, but in hopes of providing a safe space for those wanting to escape the confines of their mind to live a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Sage received her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University and Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Yeshiva University. She provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse, relationship issues, and other mental health challenges. She is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based approach for treating clients who have suffered from trauma.

After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Sage found her way back to health with a functional medicine practitioner and began a deep dive into this world. She sought out training from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, and utilizes a functional mental health lens with her clients in order to address root causes that may be exacerbating their mental health symptoms.

Message to clients

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or at war with yourself, you’re not alone and don’t have to figure it out on your own. Whether you’re struggling with food and body image, navigating complicated relationships, managing anxiety, or healing from trauma, I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, be seen, and begin to reconnect with who you really are.

As someone who has walked through my own healing journey, I know how heavy it can feel to carry emotional pain. My work is rooted in both professional training and lived experience. I see therapy as a collaborative process. Together, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back, challenge the beliefs that no longer serve you, and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others with empathy, directness, and humor.

If you're ready to stop just surviving and start living more fully, I’d love to support you.
