You’ve been to therapy before and you’re searching for a therapist again because despite knowing why you are triggered and having some skills to manage, you still find yourself repeating the same patterns. I believe that the majority of mental health symptoms are rooted in past negative experiences, some might say trauma. These past negative experiences leave you with a tainted story that you tell yourself about who you are. Maybe it was a comment from a friend's parent that "should" be minor but when you think about it now, it still makes you cringe. Maybe it was a whole lot more than that. My goal is to support you in not only identifying the traumatic experiences that have contributed to your anxiety, depression, and other symptoms, but help you uproot deeply held negative beliefs and replace them with the truth so that you can live your life authentically without being shackled by your past.
I use EMDR (the leading evidence-based treatment for trauma) alongside other evidence based and innovative approaches to help you rewrite your story about yourself to one that is more confident, self-compassionate, and authentic. As your story shifts and evolves, you find your nervous system becomes more present, grounded, resilient, and less triggered.
