Professional statement

Tameka is a compassionate and dedicated clinician who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. She also has experience supporting individuals managing substance use and recovery needs, as well as those coping with crisis situations or periods of instability. Tameka strives to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel seen, respected, and supported.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in meeting each client where they are. Tameka understands that every person’s story and healing process is unique, and she works alongside clients to build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and create meaningful change. She integrates evidence-based strategies, such as Cognitive Processing Therapy with warmth, empathy, and authenticity, helping clients feel empowered while working through difficult emotions, patterns, and life circumstances.

Tameka brings a strong professional background in behavioral health, crisis services, and clinical leadership through her work with Clinical & Support Options. She began with the organization as an intern before advancing into clinical and supervisory leadership roles. As Hospital Services Supervisor and later Emergency Services Program Clinical Supervisor, she oversaw crisis and respite programming, provided clinical guidance to counselors and clinicians, and delivered weekly supervision to staff. Her experience includes conducting comprehensive intake and risk assessments, treatment planning, safety planning, discharge coordination, chart audits, insurance authorization requests, and referral review for appropriate level of care. She has also partnered closely with hospitals, police departments, and community agencies to coordinate care, provide consultation, and support individuals in crisis.

Tameka offers flexible telehealth scheduling options with night and weekend availability to help make therapy more accessible. She understands the importance of balancing mental health care with work, family, and other life responsibilities, and aims to provide services that fit clients’ real-world needs.

Message to clients

I know that carrying big emotions on your own can feel exhausting, confusing, and at times overwhelming. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, sadness, anger, trauma, stress, or emotions that feel hard to control, you do not have to navigate it alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel understood without judgment and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing. Together, we can work to understand your emotions, build healthy coping tools, and help you feel more grounded and in control.

I also understand that finding time for therapy can be challenging when balancing work, family, school, or other responsibilities. That’s why I offer flexible telehealth appointments, including evening and weekend hours, so support can be more accessible and fit into your life.

Healing does not mean having to have everything figured out. It simply begins with reaching out. If you’re ready for support, I would be honored to help you work through the difficult emotions you’ve been carrying and move toward greater peace and balance.
