Tammy M. Bolles is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Orlando, FL, who works primarily with adults, yet willing to work with children that have encountered traumatic life changing events, with a focus on Trauma. Her patients have expressed the ability to practically implement coping strategies in their life to decrease anxious symptoms associated with trauma while also enhancing sleep and decreasing triggering interactions. Tammy has a passion for helping patients identify trauma, and work through the trauma allowing them to live a happy and healthy life despite what they have endured.
Tammy’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational interviewing, both evidence-based approaches that focuses on helping patients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors work together and identifying ways they personally would like to implement changes through discrepancies in what they want for themselves and the actions they take, The Motivational Interviewing approach helps to empower patients to make the changes they would like at a pace that feels comfortable to them.
Tammy is trained in EMDR and utilizes an eclectic approach with EMDR and somatic (body work) when helping patients process their trauma. Often times she will intermingle CBT, Motivational interviewing, EMDR and Somatic processing to provide the best possible outcome for her patients and decrease trauma triggers and responses.
Tammy seeks to utilize her patients’ enate strengths while ensuring their care is patient centered first, with gentle nudges and guidance: Her style is practical, empathetic, non-judgmental, and prioritizes her patients desired outcome.
Tammy emphasizes her patients need for safety and will work to ensure they play a role in setting the pace in their movement into trauma work. Tammy will work to set up a “safe space” and identify, and practice implementing boundaries in their life to ensure a healthy long-lasting outcome.
