Professional statement

Teresa Bhavana Schuchman Falk has actively practiced as a therapist for eight years in different roles. After attending the University of Minnesota (Morris, MN) graduating with a Sociology degree then advancing to the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities, MN), obtained her Masters of Social Work (MSW). Next she earned her Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in 2019.

Her training includes in-home with the title of Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)/Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) as a skills and therapist worker. Along with in-home settings, Teresa also has had exposure to school as well as various clinic environments. She has also been a Quality Assurance (QA) reviewer and a clinic trainee (learning and implementing how to run a private practice).

As a LICSW, Teresa specializes working with adults (ages eighteen and up) who experience depression, anxiety, and challenges with adjustments or transitions in their life. She uses elements from psychodynamic, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, brief solution focused as well as codependency, person centered and strength based lenses to meet clients’ individual needs.

Teresa continues to work with clients via telehealth and has availability until 7 PM Monday- Friday and a few weekend hours as well.

Message to clients

During the first session you can expect to talk about what brought you to therapy now, what's going on in your life, symptoms, coping skills and anything else that's important like routines, relationships, school or work. Overall, our goal is to make progress so you need therapy as little as possible. To create this growth, I help you set specific, measurable, and realistic changes that you want to make in your life. We work on these small steps together to move towards more frequent and longer moments of happiness.

I also tend to have a flexible or conversational style while talking through different themes in your life and will help you contextualize your thoughts, feelings and behaviors while bringing a relaxing, encouraging, and compassionate perspective to sessions.
