ADHD & Executive Functioning Skills Group (Ages 16-17)

Description

Teens with ADHD have heard a lot about what they "should" do — pay attention, stay organized, manage their time. This 8-week group gives them a space to actually practice how.

Over 8 weeks, teens build real, practical skills. They learn how to set up their environment, manage time, handle big emotions, and navigate school and social life. The curriculum starts with building understanding through psychoeducation on ADHD and executive dysfunction. Next, the group focuses on building skills through mindfulness, environment adjustment, time management, and emotion regulation. These skills are reviewed in the context of home life, school, and social experiences. Each week includes visually engaging worksheets designed to support skill acquisition in the moment and serve as a lasting reference long after the group ends. Finally, each group member learns to examine their own strengths, prioritize the skills they find most useful, and develop a personalized action plan to continue effective skill application after the group concludes.

In addition to the 8 weeks of group sessions, each member receives 4 individual 30-minute skills sessions, used throughout the group or within the following months to support individualized skill development and application.

Groups are offered for two age ranges (ages 12–15 and ages 16–17) so the conversations, examples, and skills stay developmentally relevant. Led by Dr. Amanda Marshall, a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist specializing in neurodiversity-affirming care.

Group Therapist

Life can feel overwhelming — whether you're navigating anxiety, a major change, or just a quiet sense that something isn't quite right. You don't have to figure it out alone.

I'm Dr. Amanda Marshall, a psychologist based in New Jersey specializing in anxiety, life transitions, and psychological evaluations. I work with adolescents and adults who are ready to understand themselves better, build real coping skills, and start feeling like themselves again. I also support parents navigating the school system on behalf of their child, or simply trying to guide a teenager through anxiety and big life changes.

I specialize in evaluations that help families get the clarity and school support their child deserves. Whether that's an IEP, a 504 plan, or simply a better understanding of how their child learns and thrives.

I have experience working with youth, adults, and families from a wide range of backgrounds, including individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, youth within the juvenile justice system, and students in public and alternative schools. These experiences have shaped me into a clinician who leads with curiosity and without judgment, because I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel genuinely understood.

My approach is warm, flexible, and always tailored to you — not a one-size-fits-all formula. Sessions with me are honest and collaborative, and I like to bring in a little humor where I can, because growth doesn't have to feel heavy all the time. Whether you're dealing with stress, identity questions, neurodiversity, or the weight of past experiences, I'll meet you where you are and help you move forward.

If any of this resonates, I'd love to connect! Reach out for a free 15min consultation.
