Neurodivergent Mutual Aid Group

Description

The mutual aid group is designed to provide neurodivergent adults with an opportunity to authentically relate, experiencing belonging, co-create meaningful relationships, and embody emergent feelings, sensations, and needs. Through this process, members will develop the scaffolding to organically explore themselves and others in the present moment, rather than remaining masked, afraid of rejection, and uncertain of how they are being perceived in the world. Over time, the group shall become self-sustaining to the point where members have created their own community that can be replicated anywhere. At that point, my job as a facilitator will conclude.

As far as the logistics of the group are concerned, it will be held either at my office, which is located at 1129 Bloomfield Avenue, Suite 212, West Caldwell, NJ 07006 or at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 493 in Nutley, NJ. A virtual option is available for members who wish to attend the group remotely. I would like to start facilitating the group on 3/8/2026 at 12:00 PM.

For prospective members, an initial consultation call is required to better understand their reason for wanting to join the group. Assuming the consultation call results in a prospective member being accepted into the group, a 2-hour intake will follow to learn more about their needs, humanity, challenges, and history. The intake costs $425.00, with a sliding scale of $200-$275.00 available for members who cannot afford to pay my full fee.

Group Therapist

Peter Linden is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in highly educated neurodivergent adults over 25 who struggle with social ostracism, anger, homophobia, transphobia, and advocating for their needs, all of which manifest as low- to medium-support needs autism, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.

Peter Linden utilizes gestalt psychotherapy, a present-oriented therapy that helps clients understand how their repetitive ways of thinking, feeling, sensing, experiencing, and communicating are getting in the way of what they want in life. As clients become more aware of what they are experiencing in the moment, they can more easily communicate their needs, develop relationships based on love, and unmask.

Peter Linden has an extensive background in psychotherapy, as demonstrated by receipt of a Master of Social Work from New York University, a clinical fellowship in gestalt psychotherapy from Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, and experience with neurodivergent adults in public health and private practice.

Peter Linden provides virtual individual, couples, and group psychotherapy sessions to clients in CT, FL, HI, NJ, and NYS. Peter Linden also offers in-person sessions for NJ based clients out of his office in West Caldwell, NJ.

Before sessions can start, Peter Linden will conduct a 15-minute consultation call with you. The consultation call will explore your reason for seeking therapy and whether Peter is best suited to help. If Peter decides that you would be better served by another experiential and relationally oriented psychotherapist, he will refer you to one of his colleagues or locate clinicians in the community.

After identifying that you are a good fit for therapy during the consultation, Peter will email you the required onboarding documentation and schedule an intake, which is a 2 hour interview to better understand your reason for seeking therapy. Once the intake is finished, a weekly session will be scheduled.
