Description
Bloom Again is a therapist-led trauma recovery and storytelling group designed for individuals seeking healing from generational trauma, childhood adversity, family dysfunction, grief, and painful life experiences through guided reflection and community connection. This group integrates trauma-informed processing, emotional wellness, psychoeducation, and storytelling while reading and discussing Three Girls the Daughters of Fatback and the Okra Thief: Alchemizing Trauma. Participants will have opportunities to explore how personal experiences, family systems, survival patterns, and identity shape present-day emotional and relational functioning.
Sessions may include guided discussion, emotional processing, journaling prompts, reflection exercises, psychoeducation, and supportive dialogue centered around themes such as resilience, survival, healing, boundaries, grief, self-worth, generational cycles, and reclaiming one’s voice. Participants are encouraged to engage at their own comfort level while being supported within a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment.
This is an open virtual group with a required screening consultation prior to participation to ensure appropriateness and emotional safety for all members. The group is facilitated by Andrea Cennington, MSW, LCSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, QS, founder of Bloomed Within, LLC, a trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice specializing in trauma recovery, resilience, complex family dynamics, and emotional wellness. Andrea is also the author of Three Girls, the Daughters of Fatback, and the Okra Thief: Alchemizing Trauma.
Group Therapist
Andrea Cennington, MSW, LCSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, QS, is a service-connected disabled veteran and licensed clinical social worker who specializes in helping clients navigate trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. Her clients often include individuals grappling with the long-term impacts of trauma, feeling “stuck” or overwhelmed, or seeking to reconnect with their inner strength and emotional resilience. Andrea provides a safe, affirming space where clients are invited to explore their experiences, process emotions, and pursue meaningful growth.
Rooted in a deep commitment to compassion and non-judgment, Andrea blends evidence-based approaches with holistic practices, including mindfulness, somatic strategies, and what she calls “brain math”—the integration of neuroscience and healing. Her work is uniquely informed by her lived experiences, both as a veteran and a former special education teacher, and her belief that healing is possible, no matter the starting point.
As the founder of Bloomed Within, LLC, Andrea is building a trauma-informed, socially conscious private practice from the ground up. At times, running a small business while navigating disability can feel overwhelming—but Andrea remains dedicated to ensuring that the care experience feels seamless, grounded, and supportive for those she serves.
Her background includes extensive work with military families, crisis response as a Mobile Crisis Counselor, and macro-level systems engagement—all of which inform her responsive, client-centered approach. She brings her full self to her work, embodying resilience and offering a collaborative therapeutic partnership to each client.
Andrea offers in-person sessions in Florida and remote sessions to clients in Colorado, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah, and Oregon, with plans for international expansion. Flexible scheduling is available to meet the needs of individuals navigating complex lives and demanding schedules.
