Description
Living in our cis-het-dominated world leaves its mark on Queer folks and it makes sense that you're impacted by it, too. Are you someone who experiences the world more intensely or with more big feels than others seem to? Does feeling *different* all the time push you to over-function or over-achieve at work, in your relationships, or other areas of life? This strategy makes so much sense to me as a Queer, nonbinary, recovering-perfectionist, late-diagnosed neurodivergent person, who's done lots of my own trauma therapy and been developing as a therapist for over 10 years. Join our 12-week, virtual therapy group, which was designed to be safe(er) & affirming so you can stop trying to prove yourself to everyone and start learning how to let down the mask and figure out what it means to nurture your true self.
This group will focus on developing meaningful connections to ward off the loneliness and isolation, build on resiliency factors through supportive community, and prioritize making shifts that help you break out of the negativity and start cultivating a life you truly want to be living, in spite of all the shit going down in the world right now. You'll get support from others with similar experiences, be offered genuine encouragement, and find a sense of empowerment so you can start facing the fear and choosing to live authentically in spite of it all.
Therapy groups can be intimidating (especially when you've been told that you're too much or too sensitive or otherwise not the "right type" of person) and this is a curated space for people to collaborate to welcome each other and honor the difficulties that come from feeling like you don't belong. My goal is for these group sessions to be tailored to fit the needs of each unique cohort instead of being a one-size-fits-most curriculum. The therapeutic approach will include mindfulness and somatic tools, Narrative Therapy's group processing style, and some Parts Work, DBT, or ACT interventions to get us past the surface level and able to move into the deeper dialogues while respecting boundaries.
I'm actively recruiting new cohort members and would love to talk to you if you're interested or have some questions. After all, I'm a therapist, not a marketing expert. 😅
The specific time for the group sessions will be determined based on consensus from the group members and we'll meet once weekly on a recurring day & time and will run for 12 a total weeks. You can Book A Consultation within Zencare or you can navigate to "Therapy Groups" on my practice's website (eWisdomWellness dot com) and fill out a Registration Form there.

Kimber-Lea Raef is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Austin, TX. Kimber-Lea supports those who feel overwhelmed by daily life due to the aftershocks of trauma. Many of Kimber-Lea’s clients don’t immediately recognize their symptoms as reactions to trauma, however after speaking with Kimber-Lea about their anxiety, sadness, inability to connect with others, or feelings of intense insecurity, they realize that they might feel this way because of experiences in the past. Kimber-Lea’s compassion, warmth, and creativity provide clients with a safe atmosphere to share their inner thoughts, emotions, and dreams.
Kimber-Lea bases her approach to therapy from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in which she is fully trained. TF-CBT helps clients draw connections from their inner thoughts and negative self talk to their mood or emotional responses and past experiences. Kimber-Lea also encourages clients to talk about their family structure and relationships to further understand where emotions come from - and how to promote positive emotions.
Kimber-Lea earned her Master’s degree from Texas State University. Together with her therapy dog, Fyrenz, Kimber-Lea supports clients experiencing grief, depression, or low self-esteem. Kimber-Lea brings a sense of playfulness into session and builds strong trusting relationships with her clients as they work through difficult conversations.
