Description
Together, we'll do some grounding exercises that will help us connect with our creativity. We'll look at idea-generating examples of what a daily journaling practice can look like. We'll ask ourselves:
How can we direct our attention and our natural capacity for creativity to record our unique
experience on the page and - in so doing - to benefit our mood + mindset?
This workshop is about process, NOT perfection!
All levels are welcome!
Group Therapist
Deirdre Murphy-Torres has been devoted to the field of social work over the last 25 years specializing in working with youth, young adults and families in schools, group homes, community centers or sports fields. Some of her favorite jobs were supporting Teen Moms and creating prevention programs for their siblings, or developing sports and leadership programs for youth in San Francisco Mission district.
She honed in her interest in counseling over the last 10-15 years focusing on supporting people of all ages. Through her passion for sports and then eventually yoga, she loves to connect the mind and body as a way to calm anxiety or develop more tools to manage ADHD symptoms. Mindfulness, Somatic work or walking in nature can also be very healing to support trauma, recover from substance abuse or rediscover values and passions that have been inhibited by fear.
Deirdre deeply appreciates that therapy can be uncomfortable and require hard work, so laughter and respecting a client's pace can make a big difference to help someone commit to their personal growth.
