Dr. Odiri Akushe works with adolescents and adults who are seeking support for a wide range of mental health concerns. She provides care for individuals ages 12 and older who may be navigating ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. Many of her clients come to her feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, looking for compassionate guidance and effective strategies to regain balance and stability.
Her approach to care is collaborative, practical, and deeply compassionate. Dr. Akushe believes that healing begins with listening and understanding each client’s unique story. She combines evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy, creating individualized treatment plans that address both immediate challenges and long-term well-being. Her goal is to help clients feel empowered, supported, and capable of meaningful change.
Dr. Akushe is a doctoral-prepared, dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). With more than 15 years of healthcare experience, she has worked across urgent care, primary care, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, telehealth, and trauma-informed care. This broad clinical background allows her to integrate medical expertise with mental health care, offering a well-rounded, whole-person approach.

ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Bipolar disorder - Developing coping and preventive strategies to stabilize extreme mood swings, including manic and depressive episodes; increasing effective strategies to regulate emotions and maintain a healthy daily routine
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Psychotic disorders - Supporting individuals and families to manage symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, and agitations while maintaining healthy, supportive relationships
Mood disorders - Clinical depression, persistent depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders that cause disturbances in the client's mood, causing mood swings, restless sleep, and/or elevated mood
