Professional statement

Alexandrea Johnson is a licensed psychotherapist, supporting individuals, families, and couples in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She often supports those navigating trauma, high-functioning individuals experiencing major life transitions, and those experiencing the complexity of the perinatal, postpartum, and/or parenting journeys.

Alexandrea co-creates a space for individuals navigating marginalized identities and collaborates with unpacking the effects of intergenerational experiences–both personal and ancestral. She approaches each session in a client centered and collaborative way, helping the client to take ownership of their narrative, and naming their lived experience.

Alexandrea brings depth and warmth to each session and will gently challenge you to push the work forward. Together, you will identify patterns and messaging that have informed your lived experience. Alexandrea offers somatic based processing to help clients feel more grounded and centered in their bodies.

Her professional experience working in high-stakes environments within government and local communities, serving both children and families provides a deep understanding of various systems. Through lived experience and professional training from Columbia University, Alexandra brings a unique perspective to the work. You will work together to create meaningful and sustainable life changes that are aligned with who you are becoming.

Message to clients

If you’ve ever felt stuck between who you want to outgrow and who you’re becoming, or the need to “keep it all together”, you are not alone. Together, we will work to uncover patterns and messaging that have governed the way you move through the world and shift toward the version of yourself that is more aligned.

I bring warmth to our relational and grounding somatic-based practice, to help you to heighten your internal communication and that with those around you. We will hold space for your lived experience and perspective, and create space for your most authentically aligned self.

If this resonates with you, I encourage you to message me so that we can book a free 15-minute virtual consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
