Amber Leshan has over fifteen years of experience as a psychotherapist in private practice in San Francisco, California. As a therapist in SF, Amber has had the opportunity to work with a very wide range of clients and experiences. Some of her more distinct specialities include working with LGBTQ+ clients, supporting and exploring questions of gender identity and sexuality, alternative relationship configurations, and nontraditional spiritual identities.
Amber works with individuals and couples across the lifespan, from transition-age youth to adults navigating later-life transitions. Her therapeutic approach is relational, somatic, psychodynamic, attachment-informed, trauma-informed, and transpersonal, tailored to meet each person’s unique needs.
Amber graduated from CIIS in 2010 with an MA in Counseling Psychology, emphasizing Somatics. She has completed additional training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Hypnotherapy, and has received specialized training in couples therapy through the Couples Institute. Amber has also practiced as a couples therapist at The San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center and The Couples Center.
