Andrea Mutschler is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Courageous Footsteps Counseling PLLC. She specializes in working with adults who appear strong and capable on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or “not enough” on the inside—often as a result of growing up with emotionally immature or neglectful parents.
Many of Andrea’s clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from holding everything together, struggling with perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, or unfulfilling relationships. Andrea helps them understand how their past shaped their current patterns so they can begin to shift out of survival mode and into a more grounded, confident way of living.
Her work focuses on helping clients heal the roots of anxiety and trauma, build self-trust, set healthier boundaries, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves. Rather than just managing symptoms, Andrea supports clients in creating meaningful, lasting change that carries into every area of their lives.
Andrea’s approach is warm, attuned, and collaborative. She creates a space where clients no longer have to perform, minimize their needs, or be “the strong one.” Together, they explore patterns, process past experiences, and build practical tools for emotional resilience and clarity.
She integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels I & II), and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring each session to the unique needs of the individual.
Andrea holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University and is licensed to provide online therapy in Texas and Washington.
