Professional statement

Dr. Anna Budd is a Psychologist and Behavior Analyst based in Queens, New York that works with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. Her clients are those that face anxiety, depression, fears, and challenging behaviors. Dr. Budd especially focuses on how to guide others in overcoming challenges and learning more positive behavior patterns. Dr. Budd also helps parents with parenting challenges, such as children displaying challenging behaviors and improving children’s sleep routines.

Dr. Budd’s approach utilizes behavioral principles and in conjunction uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. She helps clients identify the reasons behind their behaviors, which includes the triggers to their behavior and the consequences that may be maintaining their behaviors. Then she helps clients learn alternate behaviors and replacement behaviors to create healthier response patterns. This way clients can build practical skills and strategies to manage challenges, while also deepening their understanding of the thoughts and motivations that drive their behavior.

During sessions, Dr. Budd aims to equip clients with practical skills that support their goals and empower meaningful change. When starting with new clients, Dr. Budd hopes to make the clients feel safe, heard, and part of the therapeutic process. As part of the process, Dr. Budd will work with the client to apply new strategies, reflect on progress, and stay focused on the path ahead.

Dr. Budd attended the doctoral Psychology program with focus on Behavior Analysis at The CUNY Graduate Center. She completed her training at a university clinic serving the community and additional training in a private practice.

At this time, Dr. Budd is available for telehealth sessions during daytime and some evening hours.

Message to clients

Are certain patterns in your life keeping you stuck? I provide a supportive space to talk openly about what's on your mind and the challenges you're facing. Using cognitive and behavioral approaches, I work with clients to better understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions—so we can identify what’s getting in the way and what’s needed to move forward. Better understanding ourselves can be so helpful in having more control over our lives.

Together, we’ll look at your current behavior patterns, explore what has or hasn’t worked in the past, and build evidence-based strategies to help you make meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, parenting challenges, or other life hurdles, our work will focus on practical solutions tailored to your goals.

If you're ready to take a closer look at what's happening and build new skills to navigate life more effectively, I’m here to help.
