Professional statement

Anna Huff, PhD, is a licensed psychologist offering online therapy for adults in California and New York. Her work is trauma-informed, body-centered, and spiritually grounded. She works with people navigating developmental trauma, anxiety, spiritual emergence, identity shifts, and relationships that no longer feel aligned.

Dr. Huff often works with clients who function well on the outside and still feel anxious, disconnected, or fragmented inside. Sometimes, our inner work can feel thoughtful, aware, and meaningful, yet something deeper asks for attention. This is often a call to move further into your process and develop a more authentic connection with yourself.

Rather than staying only at the level of thought and insight, therapy focuses on resolving trauma and integrating what you experience emotionally, physically, and spiritually so it can be lived day to day. Dr. Huff uses EMDR, somatic therapy, and depth-oriented practices. Sessions often include nervous system regulation, unwinding protective patterns, working with inner child material, and integrating non-ordinary states into everyday life.

What matters most in this work is that you feel met, supported, and respected. The pace is intentional and grounded, allowing space to listen to what your system is doing and to respond with care rather than pressure. As safety builds, patterns begin to reorganize, and many clients experience greater coherence, clearer inner direction, and a deeper sense of alignment in their lives.

Anna offers free 15-minute consultations to help you determine whether this approach feels like the right fit. All are welcome.

Message to clients

Hi, I’m Anna Huff, PhD. I work with people who are carrying a lot on the inside, even when life looks steady on the outside. In our work together, we create a space that is steady, honest, and safe, and a place where you don’t have to perform, explain, or hold everything alone.

Therapy with me moves at a thoughtful pace with your goals in mind. We pay close attention to what is happening inside, such as sensations in the body, emotional shifts, images, and the parts of you that have stayed beneath the surface. Rather than staying in analysis, I help people process past experiences in a safe manner and connect with the meaningful change. I integrate EMDR, somatic therapy, and spiritually grounded depth work so your experience can unfold in a way that feels supported.

Many people who come to me are standing at a threshold, where familiar ways of coping no longer fit, and something new is trying to emerge. That phase can feel tender, disorienting, or quietly meaningful. My role is to stay with you in that process, to attune carefully, and to help you remain connected to yourself as things reorganize from the inside out.

My intention is that you feel seen, respected, and met; not pushed, not analyzed from a distance, but accompanied. This work is about coming into deeper coherence within yourself, at a pace your system can sustain. If that’s the kind of space you’re looking for, reach out for a free consultation.

Specialties

Complex Trauma and Childhood Wounding - Even after years of therapy or inner work, early attachment wounds can live in the body and nervous system. I help clients meet those younger parts with compassion and precision—clearing patterns that no longer serve and allowing deeper truths to come forward.

EMDR - Processing trauma and stuck experiences in a way that supports the nervous system in completing what was unfinished, so you can feel more spacious, present, and free.

NeuroAffective Touch - Accesses the body’s deep layers of experience—aiding with the restoration of safety and reconnection with early parts of you that missed contact—allowing for growth and fullness in the here and now.

Spiritual Integration - Support in navigating spiritual depth, awakening, expanded states, or existential shifts—deeper exploration of truth and embodiment.

Subtle Body and Somatic Therapy - Our subtle body, physical body, and psychology work together, which means that trauma, memories, and experiences are stored through the layers. Sessions aid with awareness, creating movement in places that were previously frozen, and in increasing your ability to track and connect with your own experiences.

Life transitions - Some transitions are obvious—loss, relocation, career shifts, parenthood. Others are quieter: a sense that your life no longer fits, even if nothing looks wrong from the outside. I work with clients in these liminal spaces—where something old is falling away and something new hasn’t yet arrived. Whether the shift is external or internal, we make space to grieve, reorient, and move in rhythm with the part of you that’s evolving beneath the surface.
