Dr. Brianna Baker is a licensed psychologist whose clinical work focuses on trauma, relational healing, and women’s mental health across the life course. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, where she specialized in Black family systems, identity development, and prevention science. During her graduate training, Dr. Baker completed clinical externships in public inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, Level 1 trauma hospital centers, college counseling centers, and community mental health clinics.
She completed her predoctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine in a state funded outpatient clinic specializing in the treatment of complex trauma in children, adolescents, and young adults. Across settings, Dr. Baker has provided psychotherapy to individuals and families navigating trauma, depression, family stress, and identity related concerns.
Dr. Baker works with children ages 10 and up, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. She has particular expertise in trauma and intergenerational trauma, depression and mood concerns, women’s health, reproductive and perinatal mental health, identity development, family of origin dynamics, and relational stress. Her work is grounded in a culturally responsive and relational framework that attends to the ways social context, culture, and systems shape emotional well being.

Child mental health - Specialized strategies for common childhood disorders including attention issues, attachment problems, behavioral disorders, learning disorders, autism spectrum diagnoses, and feeding or elimination issues.
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Family issues - Promoting communication and supporting family members to address challenges and reduce conflict and distress
LGBTQIA, gender, & sexuality topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges
Women's Issues - Therapy tailored to common concerns among women; providing a safe and understanding space to address life challenges, stressors, and questions around identity as a woman
Racism, oppression, and discrimination - Exploring how racism, oppression, and discrimination impacts one’s life, including relationships, work life, and self-esteem; growing self-care practices to combat the negative emotions that arise when faced with identity-based adverse experiences
