Professional statement

Dr. Bryan Jensen is a clinical psychologist based out of Mechanicsville Virginia. He works with adults navigating a large spectrum of mental health needs to include depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and other behavioral health concerns. He also has fellowship training in health psychology, adjustment to chronic health issues, and rehabilitation following acute injuries.

Dr. Jensen received his doctorate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University where he supported individuals in community based outpatient clinics as well as medical centers. He went on to the Salt Lake City VA where he completed his internship and fellowship. This began his work serving Veterans to help support their mental health needs.

Today Dr. Jensen continues to work with Veterans and has a small side practice where he continues to invest in helping individuals reach for their values despite their situation. In this, services are solely via telehealth with limited hours in the morning and evening.

Message to clients

Does it feel like you are struggling to make it through your day? Are there situations that make you feels almost paralyzed with fear or anxiety? Is there pain in your life that makes it hard to feel hopeful? These are just some of the sentiments I hear regularly working with my clients. My goals is to help clients find relief from anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, as well as a variety of chronic health conditions. I have worked in outpatient, hospital, inpatient, and residential treatment settings. Across all these environments I have witnessed people transform their perspective to create a life of meaning.

I offer goal oriented approaches in therapy to help you facilitate change in your life. I primarily work from an acceptance and commitment therapy framework; however, also draw from my background in cognitive behavioral training.

Life at times can seem overwhelming. Finding help can be a struggle, especially when it comes to mental health. I strive to meet individuals where they are at and while accepting you as a person, help to encourage your personal growth.
