Casey Gallagher, LMHC, has worked with clients across the lifespan, including toddlers, children, teens, adults, caregivers, and older adults. She specializes in neuro-affirming and gender‑affirming care for youth and adults, including those who receive diagnoses later in life. Casey also supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other disabilities, as well as their caregivers. Her clinical focus includes identity development, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, chronic or acute stress, divorce, and reproductive mental health—including perinatal and postnatal concerns, perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause.
Casey’s therapeutic approach is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and attunement. She prioritizes collaborative, strengths‑based care that honors each client’s nervous system, identity, and lived experience. Casey draws from evidence‑based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT, CBT for Chronic Pain, and Trauma-Focused CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT and DBT Skills System for Adults with I/DD), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and additional trauma‑ and attachment‑informed frameworks. When therapeutically appropriate, she integrates holistic practices such as mindfulness, meditation, sound healing, art‑based exploration, nature‑informed work, and intuitive tarot—always guided by client preference and clinical intention.
Casey earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University in 2011 and has served in roles spanning direct clinical care, supervision, program development, and leadership within community and outpatient settings. She has extensive experience supporting individuals and families navigating complex needs and facilitating parenting and caregiver groups focused on connection, regulation, and resilience.
Casey offers therapy from a welcoming, inclusive, and neuro-affirming perspective, creating a space where all parts of a person can be explored with compassion. She is currently based at Dyad Psychology in Providence, RI and provides therapy both in person and via secure telehealth. Remote sessions are available to clients located anywhere within Rhode Island.
