Chelsea Lawrence is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in St. Petersburg, Florida. She works with people ages 11-35 at her office located in Downtown St. Pete, or virtually across the state of Florida. Many of her clients struggle with communication in relationships, taking the next step in life (learning to drive, enrolling in school), or low self-esteem.
Chelsea's approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change.
Chelsea is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which is an eye-movement therapy that resolves symptoms of trauma, OCD, anxiety, and depression in as little as 1-3 sessions. Many clients have had years of talk therapy but still feel physical symptoms in their bodies that ART works to process and remove. Chelsea does ART in person or virtually with anyone between the ages of 16 and 99.
Chelsea’s work centers on supporting clients in making meaningful progress. Her interactive, non-judgmental approach emphasizes collaboration and respects clients as experts on their own lives. With sensitivity to the impact of past experiences, she helps clients reframe their personal narratives to strengthen self-confidence and compassion. Establishing a sense of safety, trust, and partnership is her top priority when beginning work with new clients.
