Chris is a licensed psychotherapist practicing in person in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area and virtually throughout the state of Michigan. He specializes in helping young people, adults, and elders struggling with anxiety about the future. Perhaps you have looked around and feel anxious about ecological destruction or the changing climate. Maybe you are burdened with worry about whether the promise of career stability, owning a home, and retirement are realistic. Chris understands how these experiences can lead to personal and collective grief, disconnection, and a sense of powerlessness. He brings warmth and skill to the work of helping us repair our relationship with ourselves, and building our capacity to contribute to the kind of world we want to live in. He additionally brings a trauma-informed lens and has expereince working with people dealing with health struggles.
Chris offers a unique ecological and experiential focus in therapy, meaning rather than just talking about your struggles, we actively practice new ways of relating to and processing our pain. Sometimes this involves learning new skills, trying on new perspectives, or sometimes shifting out of problem solving mode and toward a more embodied way of being. He works from the principle that while our mind is an ally in therapy and thinking is an incredible capacity, we build lasting psychological change from our feet up, and that inviting our body, heart, and spirit into this process leads to deep healing.
