Professional statement

Christine Treski is a licensed therapist who has been working in mental health for over 15 years. Many of Christine's clients start with shorter-term therapy (3-6 months) to help them cope with stress, anxiety, life transitions, ocd, and depression. Many continue with ongoing therapy to work on unhelpful patterns and deeper, underlying issues stemming from dysfunctional families, addiction, and complex trauma.

Christine is an integrative therapist, meaning she is trained in several therapy approaches and blends them uniquely for each individual. She is trained and uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systems Therapy, and Existential Therapy.

In session, Christine's approach is conversational and she provides support, interpretation, and gives feedback. She often leads mindfulness exercises in session, and will model and teach specific coping tools to help her clients better manage physical and emotional problems. Longer term therapy also incorporates deeper exploration of childhood, personality traits, interpersonal dynamics, free association work, and attunement with your life's meaning and purpose. This approach supports clients to manage problematic symptoms in the short term and make deeper changes for the long term.

Christine received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. She also trained and is certified as a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist, a Substance Misuse Counselor, and a Problem Gambling Counselor. In addition to private practice, Christine has experience in community mental health, employee assistance programs, and intensive outpatient therapy.

Outside of work, Christine enjoys contemporary art, being creative, live music, nature, and traveling. She is a member of several professional organizations and volunteers. She is a feminist and an environmentalist, who believes in harm reduction and social justice.

Message to clients

To be human means we suffer and have psychological pain that ebbs and flows throughout our lifetimes. My belief is that everyone has the ability to change and everyone desires to live a better life. You decide what that means, and I will support and encourage you to embody it. I like to help people navigate life in an empowered and rich way, despite pain and suffering. My goal as a therapist is to co-create a supportive and understanding space. With warmth and encouragement, I am here to help you better manage symptoms and tap into your inner strengths so you can move forward with confidence toward a life that feels true to you.

I bring my values as a therapist into our work: Compassion, Respect, Acceptance, Accountability, and Empowerment.

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life.
