Professional statement

Many couples arrive caught in cycles of escalation, pursue–withdraw dynamics, defensiveness, or shutdown.

Most relationships deteriorate through repeated interaction patterns, not single conflicts.

Those patterns show up in the places couples actually fight: money, sex, parenting, division of labor, in-laws, or the slow accumulation of resentment.

Daniel helps couples recognize and change the pattern driving those conflicts. Drawing on the Gottman Method, he helps partners understand how attachment patterns, stress responses, and long-standing habits shape the way disagreements unfold.

Rather than focusing only on the content of arguments, Daniel helps couples change the relational system from which those arguments come. Couples learn structured protocols for raising concerns without triggering escalation, responding without defensiveness, repairing conflict, and rebuilding goodwill between them.

Daniel’s practice often attracts thoughtful couples who want to understand what actually happens in their conflicts. Many are professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs who approach their partnership with the same care they bring to the rest of their lives.

Daniel trained at New York University and taught there for more than 15 years before focusing fully on clinical practice. As a Gottman Method Level 3 practitioner, he integrates research-based relationship science with practical frameworks couples can apply directly in daily life.

His practice serves couples through secure telehealth sessions across multiple states, allowing partners to participate from home while integrating the skills they learn into everyday life.

Protocols Over Processing

By the time couples reach out, they can usually predict their next fight.

One partner raises something that matters. The other hears criticism. Defensiveness appears. Someone presses harder. Someone shuts down. The conversation meant to solve a problem leaves the relationship feeling worse, not better.

Different topic. Same pattern.

The topics vary — money, sex, parenting, division of labor, in-laws, betrayal. But the pattern underneath them tends to be the same.

When this keeps happening, the problem usually isn’t the issue itself. It’s the interaction pattern running the relationship.

Our work focuses on changing that pattern at its source. Rather than endlessly dissecting the last argument, we build a better system for how the two of you handle tension, disagreement, and repair.

You’ll learn practical skills and structured protocols for raising concerns without triggering escalation, responding without reflexive defensiveness, and reconnecting when conflict does happen.

Over time, the dynamic begins to change. Arguments lose their volatility. Repair happens faster. Conversations that once spiraled now resolve.

Many couples come not because the relationship is broken, but because they want something better than constant friction — more clarity, more trust, and more ease in the life they are building.

That’s the direction we’ll work toward.
