Professional statement

Looking for support that meets you where you are? David helps adults move through life’s hardest moments—stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, OCD, and perfectionism—and rebuild the clarity, self-compassion, and sense of purpose needed to step forward.

Whether you’re feeling stuck in your career, struggling in your relationships, adjusting to life across cultures, or quietly carrying weight that no one else seems to see, you don’t have to figure it out alone. As a licensed therapist, David offers a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s troubling you, reconnect with what matters most, and take meaningful action toward the life you actually want.

A foundation of David's approach is Person Centered Therapy (PCT). Through PTC he provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Clients therefore feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions, thus achieving personal growth through finding their own solutions. Another core therapy method David works with is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which combines mindfulness and values, so clients can manage unworkable thoughts and identify/work with what’s important to them, bringing meaning to life.

For organizations, David's Full Engagement Corporate Training brings the same evidence-based, ACT informed tools to teams—helping employees manage stress-related conditions, build resilience, and discover purpose-driven meaning at work. Because thriving people build thriving companies.

David brings two decades of experience mentoring people facing substance abuse and workplace challenges, plus 3.5 years as a crisis center counselor. He is proficient in Person Centered Therapy (PCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and certified in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Training, and Psychological First Aid (PFA).

Message to clients

My philosophy and approach with therapy is that we work as a team to address the challenges you face, such as workplace, relationship, or cultural stress related trauma, depression or anxiety. I believe in building trust by meeting you where you are. I believe in us having a committed relationship, where we will explore your challenges, identify your strengths, and work collaboratively to create meaningful steps toward the life you want. I am happy to counsel or gently point you in the right direction, but you will be steering the ship.

Just an FYI--therapy, counseling, and coaching all aim to support personal growth and well-being but can differ in focus and approach. Therapy more often addresses past experiences, emotional challenges, and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. Counseling often focuses on more on current life challenges, such as stress, grief, or career decisions, and provides practical support and guidance to help individuals navigate these situations effectively. Coaching tends to be future-oriented, more directive, and has a stronger emphasis on goal-setting and performance improvement.
