Dr. Meidlinger is a clinical psychologist who helps folks create a safe space in their mind with less criticism, fear, and overthinking.
He provides therapy to people struggling with PTSD, anxiety, obsessive compulsive thoughts, complex trauma, social phobia, and depression. He has a specialization in assisting those who have experienced difficult or traumatic life events and childhoods. He understands just how exhausting it can be for clients when they cannot get a break from fear, overwhelm, and anxiety.
Dr. Meidlinger uses scientifically supported treatment techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure therapies to help clients see quick and effective relief. He helps clients to look at their current environment, actions, and how they speak to themselves; then he offers tools for change in these areas. Dr. Meidlinger is firmly rooted in evidence-based practice, which means that he has a solid background in research, assessment, and diagnosis. He has training in both designing and evaluating cutting edge therapies, giving him a unique perspective as a therapist.
Dr. Meidlinger completed his PhD through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a doctoral internship at the Durham VA Healthcare System in NC. He spent the early part of his career working at the veteran's hospital, which honed his clinical skills. Outside of private practice, he is faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and serve as the director of the clinical psychology training clinic. In this role, he has the honor to serve as an instructor and clinical supervisor of graduate students on their own journeys to becoming clinical psychologists.
Dr. Meidlinger sees clients in-person, and remotely (nationwide). His in-person office is in Lincoln, Nebraska, but he has the ability to see clients nation-wide via telehealth and PSYPACT.
