Professional statement

Navigating infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, early parenthood, and other life transitions can challenge you in unexpected ways. At Open Road Therapy, Elizabeth Nogel specializes in helping people through life’s turning points — those times when the road ahead feels unclear, but you know you’re ready for something different.

Elizabeth brings a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to therapy that focuses on meeting you where you are, without judgment or pressure.

Elizabeth will work with you to make sense of the changes you’re experiencing, uncover your strengths, and build the tools you need to move forward with confidence and clarity. The goal is to empower you to embrace change, find resilience in the face of challenge, and reconnect with your sense of meaning and purpose. This work is a journey — one you’ll take together.

Message to clients

You’ve got it together—at least that’s how it looks from the outside. You show up. You take care of what needs to get done. But inside? It’s a different story. Your mind won’t slow down. You feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or just… off. Maybe you’re anxious all the time, or stuck in a low mood you can’t shake. Maybe you’re moving through a huge life transition—becoming a parent, infertility, a loss, a relationship shift—and wondering why it all feels heavier than you expected. You catch yourself thinking, “Why can’t I just handle this?” Or, “I should be fine by now.” But you’re not. And that’s the part no one prepares you for.

I work with people who are used to being capable and holding it all together—but are quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, identity shifts, relationship stress, or that underlying feeling of being stuck. This might be showing up in the transition to parenthood. Or navigating infertility. Or in a life that looks “fine” on paper.

I provide a space where you can be honest about what’s actually going on—without judgment or pressure. We’ll slow things down, sort through what feels tangled, and figure out what actually helps. I’ll offer guidance and practical tools to help you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels steady and real. You don’t have to keep pushing through this alone.
