Professional statement

Elizabeth Potter works with individuals navigating major life transitions including but not limited to becoming a parent, healing from trauma, being a college student, or simply seeking a deeper connection to themselves. She is especially passionate about supporting women, mothers, and birthing people, including those who have experienced perinatal mental health challenges, birth trauma, or identity loss in parenthood. Elizabeth also welcomes adults and young adults facing anxiety, grief, panic, general mental issues and much more! Elizabeth is kind of a "one stop shop" when it comes to getting the care you need. She has connections with other therapists as well if you need help in different areas or need a team behind you to help you through your current challenges.

Elizabeth’s approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices. She draws from cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, positivity, reality reinforcement, and acceptance-based frameworks to help clients build insight, develop coping tools, and foster meaningful change. Sessions with Elizabeth offer a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to take practical steps toward healing.

Her professional background includes a lot of time dedicated to the understanding the counseling field. As a mental health professional who has also facd many life challenges herself, Elizabeth offers a unique, integrative lens on care that acknowledges how emotional, physical, and relational experiences intersect. She brings personal and professional understanding to the nuanced journey of healing and growth.

Elizabeth is currently licensed in NY and SC, while offering only online sessions for now. She is currently accepting new clients for telehealth and maintains flexible scheduling to support the needs of caregivers, working professionals, and students. Her office is a welcoming space that affirms all identities and lived experiences.

Message to clients

Hello!

I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, grieving, adjusting to a new season, or simply trying to reconnect with yourself, I want you to know you don’t have to navigate it alone. Therapy can be a space to process, reflect, and find your way forward with support.

My approach is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and evidence-based strategies. I use many different tools but am sure to keep a tailored approach for just you. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to therapy as everyone has different experiences. I like to make you the most comfortable during sessions and can't wait to work with you!

I specialize in supporting an array of mental health complications including but not limited to grief, adjustments, confidence, trauma, sexual health, and much more. I believe healing happens in relationship, and it’s my priority to create a safe, affirming space for you to show up exactly as you are.

With care,

Elizabeth
