Professional statement

Eunice Cordelia Miller Muhammad is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Oakbrook Terrace, IL where she welcomes both adults and seniors who want to be brave and courageous when facing fearful or hurtful situations. Many of her clients bring in emotional pain, whether the symptoms of anxiety, depression, or grief are weighing them down, relationships feel unbalanced, or stress and self-criticism are negatively impacting their ability to function. She supports clients in facing present challenges, releasing thoughts that don’t help them, building the confidence needed to re-engage with their careers, their loved ones, and themselves in more meaningful ways.

Therapy sessions with Eunice, (or Cordelia) validating and affirming. She integrates cognitive behavioral, insight-oriented and skills-based approaches. She gently guides clients to practice self-compassion when exploring the root cause of their symptoms and identifying what doesn’t work for them. She wants client to gain new awareness into their patterns of relating to themselves, others and the world. At the same time, she focuses on practical strategies, with an emphasis on relaxation, meditation, nutrition, and movement, to help clients feel better.

Mrs. Miller Muhammad is committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive practice, which serves as a space to be brave for BIPOC individuals, people who identify as LGBTQIA and survivors of trauma. She offers the flexibility of remote therapy sessions and welcomes new clients to her online practice.

Message to clients

If you are someone who put everyone else's comfort first and neglect yourself, you are not alone. This dynamic is one of the most common challenges many of my clients have faced. If you want a therapist who can help you recognize what is getting in the way of you having the life that you want, who helps you build your self-confidence, guide you in reconnecting to your self-worth, and teach you how to make your well-being a priority, look no further, I am that person.

I get how talking to someone about what’s bothering you can make you feel embarrassed, like you are complaining or just weak. You and I have received so many messages to “be strong” that it’s easy to think that being vulnerable is going in the wrong direction. The truth is, strength is found in your vulnerabilities and when you talk to the right person, so are solutions that you can believe in and implement.

In recent years, I’ve focused on building a successful virtual private psychotherapy practice specializing in the treatment of Anxiety. Practice wisdom has taught me that emotions are like wild animals, either you manage them, or they will manage you. I would love to teach you how to manage your emotions and share with you the knowledge I’ve gathered from two decades of providing psychotherapy.
