He's worked with adults and adolescents in Rikers Island jail as well as drug abuse treatment for both adult and adolescents, parole and probation population.

He employs a client centered approach while incorporating a strength-based system. He has extensive experience with DBT working with adults and adolescents in Rikers Island. In addition, he uses solution focused therapy while employing an advocacy system that helps people overcome low self-confidence and depression. In applying these different therapy dynamics, he helps to compartmentalize stressors and define goals to help overcome chronic or acute crisis. CBT is a method he uses to enable people to condition their thinking to overcome false beliefs that lead to emotional and mental distress.

Mr. Baker's experience began working in Rikers Island Jail, where he worked for 10 years, before working within the Port Jervis community to help aid people in Orange County New York overcome homelessness. He then began working in Newburgh New York in drug counseling. During covid, he began working remotely assessing elderly and others who needed nursing home care and psychiatric hospitalization.

Since 2021, he began his own private practice which has given him the opportunity to reach more people through virtual telehealth treatment. Through this method, he can reach more people with more frequency and with more ease.

I have worked with people who are in the most debilitating situations and after working with them, they have found meaning, purpose and strength in their lives. Oftentimes, we feel that our situation is hopeless. Whether it be the death of a loved one, the loss of income, family members not achieving what they need to, drug abuse, illness, there is meaning and purpose in your life and you were meant to find it to overcome your struggles.

Life has challenges, trauma, and tragedy. Even so, it is important to know that you were designed to overcome these challenges. Your experiences are not in vain. You have a purpose in life. Some people may feel apathetic or hopeless or overwhelmed about their future. However, we will find the passion and purpose in your being that will be not just a benefit to you but to everyone who is around you.
