Professional statement

Evie DavyRomano is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and PhD-trained Medical Family Therapist. She specializes in supporting women and college athletes who are struggling with food and body image, anxiety, perfectionism, performance pressure, and stress. She is also a skilled health coach who is passionate about helping women gain a healthier relationship with food, body, and self while building confidence and resilience in life, health, and fitness.

Dr. Evie’s approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps clients clarify their values and take meaningful action. In sessions, she guides clients in building mindful awareness, navigating difficult emotions, and aligning their lives with what matters most.

Clients describe Dr. Evie as warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. She creates a safe, supportive space rooted in trust, authenticity, and respect for each client’s pace and goals.

Dr. Evie earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University Northwest and her PhD in Medical Family Therapy from East Carolina University. She has trained at nationally recognized eating disorder programs (Veritas/The Emily Program and The Renfrew Center) and in academic medical centers (East Carolina and Indiana University Schools of Medicine). She has worked with Division I collegiate athletes and spent recent years in medical weight management at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, specializing in sustainable approaches to weight and eating concerns.

Outside of private practice, Dr. Evie enjoys spending time with her family, loving on her mini golden-doodle, watching her daughters play sports, lifting weights, and exploring North Carolina.

Message to clients

It’s completely normal to feel nervous about starting therapy or even to question whether you should be here at all. Maybe part of you resents needing support in the first place. But reaching out isn’t a weakness—it’s an act of courage. You’re not meant to carry every burden alone.

I meet my clients exactly where they are without judgment or pressure to change. I love helping people get unstuck, gain clarity, and see themselves or their situation in a new way. Even if you don’t believe you matter right now, I do—and my goal is to help you begin to believe it too.

Clients often tell me they finally feel understood, taken seriously, and have a clearer understanding of their mental health after working with me. I want you to feel that same sense of understanding and support even if that means hearing things you weren’t expecting, so you can build the insight, tools, and confidence to thrive long after our work together ends.

If any of this resonates with you, then I hope you reach out to discover if we could be a good fit working together.
