Professional statement

You may be the person everyone relies on. The one who performs, produces, manages, and keeps going, even when you are running on fumes. From the outside, your life may look stable or even successful. Privately, though, you may feel anxious, emotionally flat, exhausted, disconnected, or unable to sleep. Dr. Gayle MacBride works with high-achieving adults who are tired of white-knuckling their way through stress, burnout, insomnia, trauma, and relationship strain. Her clients are often insightful, capable, and deeply self-aware, but they know insight alone is not enough. They want therapy that is intelligent, strategic, and genuinely effective.

Dr. MacBride’s style is direct, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. She helps clients move beyond coping and toward meaningful change with therapy that is practical, focused, and tailored to the realities of their lives. Her work includes CBT-I for poor sleep/insomnia, trauma-informed therapy, Gottman Method couples work, and Discernment Counseling (for couples on the brink). Clients often appreciate that she is warm but not passive, honest but not harsh, and able to both support and challenge them. With more than two decades of clinical experience, she specializes in sleep, anxiety, trauma recovery, and complex relationship dynamics, especially for women who look fine on the outside but know something important needs to shift.

Dr. MacBride practices through Veritas Psychology Partners, a boutique private-pay practice designed for clients seeking discretion, responsiveness, and high-quality care. She is licensed in 40+ PSYPACT states, with additional licensure in New York. Most sessions are virtual, and she offers a limited number of in-person appointments in the Twin Cities metro area. Her caseload is intentionally limited so each client receives focused, individualized attention.

Message to clients

If you’re here, chances are you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. You may be the person everyone depends on, the one who keeps functioning, producing, and showing up, even when you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, or like something in your life is no longer working. From the outside, you may seem fine. Inside, you may be struggling with anxiety, sleep problems, relationship strain, burnout, or the quiet sense that you cannot keep doing things this way. If that is where you are, I want you to know you do not have to keep white-knuckling your way through it alone.

The clients who tend to work well with me are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware. They are not looking for vague reassurance or endless circling. They want therapy that is clear, strategic, compassionate, and effective. My approach is active and evidence-based, with a strong focus on helping you understand what is keeping you stuck and what needs to change. We will set clear goals, tailor the work to your life, and focus on progress that feels meaningful and sustainable.

Before we begin, I want you to know that I keep my caseload intentionally limited so I can offer thoughtful, personalized care. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can stop performing, speak honestly, and begin making real changes. My hope is that our work helps you feel more rested, more connected, more clear, and more like yourself again.
