Professional statement

Glen has been a human being for 65 years, a practicing psychotherapist for 24. He invites you to stand shoulder to shoulder with him in your journey to ease your suffering and achieve your goals. Therapy offers many possibilities- seeing old problems in a new and open way, being more alive in the world, celebrating the possibility of wonder, or learning more effective strategies for relating. This means exploring and addressing various kinds of dilemmas and pain. It may simply mean support with your creative process, or more commonly, with the feeling that you are “stuck”. Reducing suffering and feelings of wholeness are common goals.

You may suffer from compulsions, addictions, or mindless fear. You may be at a crossroads in your life. Together we will pay close attention to what is, what was, and what may be. This will result in movement. Experience will help us to create change, and to live with what is. Glen has many areas of expertise and ways of working- tears and laughter included.

Currently I see clients both in my office in Mashpee on Cape Cod, and virtually online. I find both are quite effective, but also that they are different. We can discuss which, or a blend that is right for you. My range of experience is quite expansive, from folks coming out of decades of care in state hospitals to folks looking to deepen and improve the quality of their lives, to find meaning and purpose.

Message to clients

Some of my areas of expertise include grief and loss, end of life issues, feeling lost, mood problems, relationships, finding meaning, non-binary paths, and the quest to matter. I welcome you to join me in this endeavor. I will strive to learn about you and ways of being with you that will be most useful to you in this process. Our first step is the process of learning about your situation and experience, and to begin to explore the possibility of trust. Trust in and of itself may be a major focus of exploration and therapy, particularly if you have experience of trauma.

Engaging in the work of therapy is part of how we can discover if I am the right therapist for you. I am happy to briefly answer questions about the way I work, but showing is often the best way. Feel free to reach out to me with any question you may have. I am particularly interested in what has worked for you in the past, as well as in what has not.
