Professional statement

As a licensed psychologist with expertise in behavioral and neurodevelopmental differences, Dr. Selman's primary objective is to create sustainable behavior change where it is wanted, and to empower clients, parents, and families to partner in this change. He loves the work and welcomes complex and challenging cases. Dr. Selman's sessions tend to be active, goal-oriented, and engaging. Clients and families can expect to work with a collaborative, solution-focused, straight forward psychologist who is dedicated to helping them succeed. His approach mixes empathy and compassion with an emphasis on results.

Dr. Selman offers teletherapy services. He specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, mood disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and academic needs related to executive functioning weaknesses, college transitions, giftedness and twice exceptionality (2e).

Dr. Selman's practice is based in scientifically-supported assessments and interventions. When working with children and adolescents, especially those presenting with challenging behavior, it requires commitment from parents and families in order to be successful. His commitment in return is to facilitate collaboration across settings, including your child's school community and outside providers. This ensures meaningful change for families, across settings, and into the future.

Message to clients

I help children, teens, and young adults manage anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum challenges, and the pressures of school or college while building practical skills, confidence, and resilience. Many families reach out when a student is bright but overwhelmed—struggling with focus, emotional regulation, friendships, or academic stress. I also work with college students and young adults navigating independence, life transitions, academic and career demands, and the mental health challenges that often arise during this stage.

I am Dr. Jeff Selman, a licensed psychologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and certified school psychologist. I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families dealing with anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum differences, behavioral challenges, and college adjustment, including work with gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) students.

My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance-based behavioral therapies. Sessions are active, collaborative, and goal-oriented. My background as both a psychologist and BCBA allows me to combine emotional support with practical behavioral strategies that clients and families can begin using right away.

I provide teletherapy, which many families and college students find convenient and effective. Clients can expect a warm, straightforward, and collaborative psychologist dedicated to helping them succeed.
