Professional statement

I have been a therapist for 18 years and specialize in working with adolescents and adults at all stages of life. My work has been varied including residential eating disorder treatment, Alzheimer's care, hospice/grief care, teen CBT program for behavior change, and private practice. I work with clients who are struggling to find where they fit, perfectionism, and working on identity development. Working with LGBTQIA+ teens and adults has been a huge part of my practice for the last 6 years. I lecture on Art Therapy both in the US and internationally. My work with families of trans and gender non-conforming teens will be published this year in a new Art Therapy text book.

I work in a trauma informed person centered way and have different specializations including Art Therapy and EMDR. Styles of therapy I use most are Art Therapy, DBT, Narrative, relational mindfulness, gender/identity exploration, and attachment focused. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and hold a Board Certification in Art Therapy.

I am a telehealth only therapist and have evenings and weekend times open for working professionals and teens after school. I am taking new clients at this time and work with teens (12+) and adults. I offer a free 15 min telehealth consultation to see if I am a good fit to support you.

Starting therapy with a new person can be really scary. Its a big step to be your authentic, amazing, messy, wonderful self with another person. My goal is to create space where you can be safe to be yourself. I want to walk with you on your path and support change along the way. Reach out if I seem like a good fit for you.

Message to clients

Do you ever feel like you just don’t fit in? Its been hard to find the right fit with a therapist before? Feeling like ‘no one gets you’ and how you process life?

I want you to feel supported and know you have a place to be accepted. Whether you are exploring your identity and values or working on anxiety and depression we can co-create a space for growth. My goal for therapy is that it is relational, understanding, and a safe place to be yourself.

I am not a blank slate therapist, I am nerdy and use humor. If you have ever felt like the odd one out I would love to work with you and help you grow to see all of your strengths.
