Jesse Bright is a Licensed Clinical Social worker who specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. She aims to provide individualized treatment that values and honors clients’ presenting issues, learning style, access to resources, personality, interests, and stage in the change process. Jesse creates a therapeutic environment that is collaborative, non-judgmental, safe, and at times, fun. Jesse utilizes a combination of interventions, including psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Family Systems Therapy. Jesse is also certified in Animal Assisted Therapy which focuses on the inclusion of trained dogs to promote healing and overall wellbeing for people struggling with physical and mental health.
Jesse has a Bachelor degree in Sociology and a Master degree in Social Work both from Portland State University. Jesse has over 12 years of experience working in the mental health field, and time with varied populations has helped inform her approach to care. She has worked in group homes, schools, homes, and residential treatment facilities with at-risk adolescents with behavioral/mental health issues, adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities and adults with severe and persistent mental illness. She has worked as an intern supporting people living with HIV as well as in social work research on the topic of families of young children with developmental disabilities. Jesse's clinical and case management experience has taught her the importance of providing strengths-based, trauma informed care that gives space for an individual’s unique life experience, identity, culture, and perspective.
