Professional statement

Jesse Cardin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Zen meditation teacher offering trauma-informed psychotherapy grounded in meditation practice. He specializes in providing compassionate, confidential care for LGBTQ+ adults, artists & creatives, veterans, and people of all types navigating major life transitions.

With over a decade of experience, Jesse has worked with diverse clients in various behavioral health settings, including inpatient and outpatient acute psychiatric care, crisis stabilization, community case management, group homes, and private practice. He also leads individual Zen meditation sessions and retreats, integrating this approach into therapy to help clients gain deeper self-insights in a nonreligious way.

Jesse’s clients are often individuals seeking a deeper understanding of their lives and the root causes of their struggles. They may face challenges with shame, guilt, anger, self-worth, sexual and gender identity, childhood trauma, and questions about life’s meaning and purpose. Many come to therapy to find clarity around symptoms like depression, anxiety, compulsive behaviors, nightmares, or overwhelming emotions.

Current and past clients describe Jesse as honest, kind, humorous, insightful, warm, and authentic. They appreciate his unbiased guidance and the safe space he creates, where they feel comfortable sharing and exploring all aspects of their lives without fear of judgment.

Message to clients

Recognizing when you're overwhelmed isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. Whether you’re stuck in familiar painful patterns or navigating a new life transition, I’m here to help guide you. Since 2011, I’ve supported diverse clients across inpatient, outpatient, substance use, and crisis settings. I offer contemplative, trauma-informed care for LGBTQ+ adults, veterans, artists & creatives, and high-performing professionals, and I help people of all backgrounds deepen self-understanding and work through questions of identity, meaning, and purpose.

I blend western depth-oriented clinical approaches such as psychodynamic psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems together with my experience as a Zen Buddhist meditation teacher. My job is to help you take back your life by giving you practical, effective strategies for managing symptoms in the present while healing traumas from the past.

Therapy is a collaborative process built on mutual respect, trust, and open communication. Past clients have described me as honest, kind, humorous, insightful, and authentic. They appreciate my unbiased guidance and the safe space I create, where they feel comfortable exploring all aspects of their lives without fear of judgment.

Shall we get started?
