Professional statement

Jessica Prescott is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals navigate a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, and the complex decisions that often accompany life transitions. She frequently works with clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and are seeking clarity, stability, and practical tools to cope more effectively. Her ideal clients are motivated for growth but may feel unsure where to begin, especially when stress, past experiences, or emotional patterns interfere with daily functioning.

Jessica’s approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. She focuses on helping clients develop effective coping strategies, increase self-awareness, and process experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable. Whether addressing anxiety, trauma responses, or major life decisions, she strives to create a calm and supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered to move forward at their own pace. She believes meaningful change happens when insight is paired with practical skills and supported by a strong therapeutic relationship.

Jessica earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which provided a strong foundation in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment. Her professional background includes working with diverse individuals facing emotional, relational, and situational challenges. She is committed to ongoing learning and professional development to ensure she provides thoughtful, ethical, and effective care. Above all, her goal is to support clients in building resilience, confidence, and a greater sense of balance in their lives.

Message to clients

I chose a career in mental healthcare, specifically counseling, because of the unique power of the therapeutic relationship. I have seen how meaningful change often begins when someone is given consistent space to be heard without judgement, pressure, or expectations. Experiencing and observing this kind of connection showed me that healing does not come from being "fixed", but from being understood and supported in developing insight and agency.

To me, counseling is collaborative, relational, and deeply human. It allows me to sit with individuals in moments of vulnerability, help them make sense of their experiences, and support them in building coping skills and self-awareness at their own pace. I am inspired to meet people where they are, honor their lived experiences, and walk alongside them as they move toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being.
