Kathleen Sprengel is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker located in Boston, MA who works with young adults and adults, including couples. As an LGBTQ affirming therapist, she enjoys working with clients of all backgrounds, identifies, relationship structures, and mental health needs. Many of her clients begin therapy to work through communication challenges that can result in tension in their relationships or those who find that their mental health holds them back from fully enjoying their daily lives.
Kathleen’s therapeutic work draws from the belief that by identifying our needs and making life changes aligned to those needs, we can find greater wellbeing and satisfaction. She practices attachment theory, which is a therapy technique that focuses on the early relationships’ impacts on current ways of connecting with others. Kathleen teaches clients how to introspect on their backgrounds and learn how to manage boundaries in their current relationships. Kathleen also practices Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), teaching clients coping strategies to utilize in moments of acute distress.
Kathleen earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She has over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health and is a nurturing, reliable therapist who consistently shows up for her clients.
