Kelsi McMartin is an experienced Licensed Marriage and Family therapist.
Being dually licensed in California and Arizona, she works with families who are located in both states and are experiencing family estrangement, and want to work on improving family relationships.
Kelsi also works well with high achievers who are givers who sometimes find themselves in relationships with takers. They are good at meeting the needs of others but often leave their own emotional needs and wants out of the equation. Kelsi works with recovering people-pleasers who know that the "jig is up" and that this way of being in the world cannot be sustained. It leaves them feeling lost, like they’re not good enough and with the sinking feeling that something vital is missing and yet to be discovered.
People who work with Kelsi appreciate the way she helps them see themselves and their situation from a different, often a more loving and generous perspective. They are then able to shift how they see themselves, and flow the love so easily given to others towards themselves.
Kelsi practices a therapy approach called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR therapy leverages the brain’s natural process to help clients move past the painful memories that might lead to trauma symptoms, like feelings of panic. She also practices the Flash Technique, which releases traumatic memories stuck in the brain and body. Her sessions are results-oriented, meaning that many clients find themselves feeling better within only a handful of sessions.
Kelsi earned a Master’s degree from John F. Kennedy University. Her practice is warm and empathetic, and she strives to create a feeling of safety and security for her clients. Her goal is to connect her clients to their inner, innate wisdom so they can better cope with life’s challenges.
