Kim works mostly with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship concerns. Many of her clients just feel stuck or overwhelmed and want help figuring things out. Kim supports her clients while they make changes or move through a difficult time in their life.
Kim started in a completely different career before becoming a therapist in 2007. She left that field because it wasn't right for her, which led to her own process of figuring out what actually mattered. That experience combined with her clinical knowledge and experience shape how she works now. She understands what it feels like when something isn't working and you need to make a change.
At a typical appointment with Kim, you'll start with whatever's on your mind that day. Kim helps you connect it to your bigger goals, then you break things down into steps you can handle. You'll look at your thought patterns together, work on what you can control, and practice new skills. The techniques she uses almost always build on what you're already good at.
Clients say Kim is warm and easy to talk to. They describe feeling accepted without judgment, which helps them be honest about what's really going on. She'll also push you a bit when it's useful to try something different or look at a situation another way. It's that combination that seems to work for clients.
You don't have to show up to your first appointment with everything sorted out or feeling motivated. Kim's approach is to work with you wherever you are and move forward with you from there. If you want someone to help you develop skills that will help and make changes that stick, that's what she'll help you do.
