Kristina Amerikaner, LMSW, PMH-C, has extensive experience supporting individuals within the perinatal period, and understands the unique emotional, identity, relational, and physical changes that occur throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. She is trained in EMDR and the Gottman Method for couples and is passionate about helping clients heal from distressing experiences, navigate attachment wounds, build emotional safety, and strengthen connection within both the self and within relationships.
Kristina believes the best therapeutic work begins with the client’s goals — not the clinician’s agenda. Every client enters therapy with their own history, nervous system, lived experience, and pace. Because humans are complex, Kristina does not adhere rigidly to one modality. Instead, she takes an integrative and dynamic approach that allows her to pull from multiple theories, interventions, and evidence-based models to best serve the person or system sitting in front of her.
Though Kristina has specialized experience supporting perinatal mental health, she also works with children, adolescents, and couples. Her work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s autonomy and wisdom. She prioritizes emotional safety and collaboration as the foundation of meaningful therapeutic change.
Kristina offers sessions both via telehealth as well as in-person at offices located in Red Bank and Parsippany, New Jersey. Her hope is to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen and supported, where healing is possible, and where people can move toward lives that feel more connected, aligned, and authentically their own.
