Professional statement

Dr. Laeth Al-Hamdouni is a Massachusetts licensed clinical psychologist working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are ready for something different — not just coping, but a clearer internal life and healthier relationshipsSome look capable on the outside while feeling anxious, stuck, or quietly disconnected on the inside. Others are openly struggling — with depression, trauma, relationship breakdown, or a sense that things have gotten away from them. What they share is a desire to feel better, understand themselves more deeply, and build a life that actually fits who they are.

He commonly supports people navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, self-doubt, trauma, grief, major life transitions, and relationship struggles — whether those challenges are long-standing or newly surfacing. He also sees couples and families seeking to rebuild trust, improve communication, and move from recurring conflict to deeper connection.

His approach is warm, conversational, and genuinely integrative — drawing from an unusually and uniquely broad clinical toolkit. Rather than fitting clients into a single method, he tailors the work to the person in front of him — balancing emotional depth with practical direction, curiosity with honest feedback, and insight with real, usable tools. His varied personal and professional experiences allow him to connect authentically with people from many different backgrounds, without judgment.

Dr. Al-Hamdouni brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens and particular skill with complex presentations — including clients who have tried therapy before and are looking for something more. He believes the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful drivers of change, and that feeling truly understood is often the first turning point toward lasting growth.

He offers in-person therapy in Arlington, MA and secure telehealth for clients throughout Massachusetts. An initial consultation is available to explore fit and what a first phase of work together could look like.

Message to clients

If you're considering therapy, you don't have to arrive with a perfectly articulated story or a clear sense of what's wrong. People come to me from very different starting points — some are quietly struggling beneath a functional surface, others are openly overwhelmed, and many are somewhere in between. What matters isn't where you're starting from, but that some part of you is ready for something different.

My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel genuinely understood — not analyzed or judged, but truly heard. Early sessions are about making sense of what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you'd like to be different. We'll clarify goals, track what's working, and adjust as we go. The process is collaborative and paced to fit you.

In our work together I'll be warm and curious, but also active and direct and occasionally humorous — offering honest feedback and practical tools alongside emotional depth. I draw from a broad range of approaches and I'll tailor what we do to what actually fits your situation and your pace. If EMDR seems like a good fit for what you're carrying, we can explore it carefully and move at a speed that feels safe.

Above all, I want therapy to feel human, grounded, and worth your time — not just a space to talk, but a place where things genuinely start to shift in your daily life and relationships.
